I Am Bob, Not Your Gay Friend Bob

We think we are in a more enlightened time but are we?

How many times have you heard something like this, "my friend Bob and I went for a bike ride yesterday by the lake and it was great.  You know he is gay".

Why do we do that?

Can't you just say you had a nice bike ride.  Or that your friend is a funny person, or smart or thoughtful. How would you feel if someone reduced you down to what you do in the bedroom?

We are all people after all and we pretty much want the same things out of life.  If you are afraid you might say something to offend or embarrass a friend in the LGBT community then ASK THEM!

We cannot move past our fear or embarrassment if me do not know and ignorance is just as bad as staying silent.
